BAFTA 2016 Predictions!

The BAFTA's will take place on February 14th at the Royal Opera House in London. I think 2016 so far has been amazing for film. We have had incredible releases such as The Revenant and Room. Not only have we seen talented directors, creative cinemaphotographers but also outstanding performances from actors such as Leonardo DiCaprio and Eddie Redmayne. As a film student the award season is certainly my favourite time of year for film, not only is a great time to watch incredible movies but it is also very inspiring. Below are my predictions for this years BAFTA awards. I have based my predictions on current winners this award season and of course my own opinion who I believe should win.

Best Film- The Revenant

Outstanding British Film- The Danish Girl

Adapted Screenplay- Room

Original Screenplay- Ex Machina

Leading Actor- Leonardo DiCaprio for The Revenant

Leading Actress- Brie Larson for Room

Supporting Actor- Christian Bale for The Big Short

Supporting Actress- Alicia Vikander for Ex Machina

Director- Alejandro G. Iñárritu for The Revenant

Beauty Bargains!

Yesterday I went for a meal at Aagrah in Leeds which I highly recommend. The curry is very tasty and I found the staff to be very helpful. Before I went for the meal I had a little time to kill so I had a wonder around the shops. Most of the shops have a few last bits bits and bobs in the January sales but not much worth buying. However I did stumble across these two little bargains.

1) The Blackcurrant and Fig gift set from Boots. Its original price was £18.00 but I got it for £5.40 which is a saving of £12.60.

2) Primark beauty blender. It was £1.50 and now 70p. I find in most Beauty/Makeup stores beauty blenders are way over priced but this is a bargain.

I hope you find yourself some beauty bargains!

Delicious Coconut and Date Protein Balls!

Omgosh! I think I just created the most delicious healthy and vegan snack. If you like chocolate and coconut you are going to love this. I have seen this recipe before so it's not fully originally however I did change it a little bit.  This is also in english measurements as I have only found this recipe in cup measurements previously.

For the ingredients you are going to need:

  • 15 Pitted Dates blended in a food processor (I used a smoothie maker).
  • 8 Tablespoons of shredded coconut (you will also need extra for rolling the balls in).
  • 5 Tablespoons of melted coconut oil.
  • 2 Teaspoons of raw cocoa powder.
  • 3 Tablespoons of chia seeds.
  • A dash of coconut milk.

Makes 10 snack sized Protein Balls.

  • Blend your pitted dates together until they are fine and sticky. In a large microwave safe bowl melt your coconut oil.

  •  Once your coconut oil has melted, add in your shredded coconut and mix.

  •  Add in your dates, raw cocoa and chia seeds mixing between each ingredient.

  • Stir the mixture until it comes together like a biscuit dough and add in a dash of coconut milk. If the mixture is too wet add in more chia seeds.

  • leave the mixture to stand for 20 minutes to allow the chia seeds to soften. After letting it sit the mixture will be ready to roll in your hands to create small balls. Put some extra shredded coconut on a small plate and roll the balls in it until they are covered. You can keep them in the fridge or freeze them.

Enjoy!
